The Gold Coast Suns have been a story of disappointment in recent years. Since their founding in 2009 the Gold Coast Suns have never once managed to play finals footy.
Currently they sit at 11th but given how tight the contest is this season they sit only one game and percentage away from 6th. This surprisingly successful season comes on the back of almost career best form from captain Touk Miller and star ruckman Jarrod Witts. Their young core of Matt Rowell, Noah Anderson and Izak Rankine amongst others have also been able to thrive this season, finally free from injury.

One of the many concerns facing Gold Coast going forward is the loss of Ben King. King has been sidelined by an ACL injury for the entire season and leaves them without a strong and consistent key forward presence.
Gold Coasts percentage over the last 6 weeks has been at 154.3% which is a true indicator of their strong performance likely to continue over the coming rounds due to a slightly easier than average schedule.
Gold Coast played a strong game against Adelaide securing a 43 point win. Unfortunately talented backman Wil Powell went down with a horrific lower leg injury which will sideline him for the season.
